Playdates with Preschool Buddies

M&L have been having playdates since they were babies. We are used to hanging with other kids, Mom's etc. Its a playdate for me too. A few weeks ago, Maeve woke up and said "Mommy can Erin come over to our house to play, but you will have to ask her Mommy first"?. I arranged for a playdate and I picked up Erin after school and her Dad came to get her a few hours later. This was Erin's first solo playdate as she has two older sisters.
The following week, Liam asked if Rocco could come over. Again, I picked him up from school and the boys came back here to play. Maeve went to Charlottes so Liam and Rocco could play solo. Rocco wanted to play Wii, so they had fun playing golf, bowling, tennis, baseball etc. When Rocco's Mom picked him up, she said this was Rocco's first playdate too, he has a brother who is 1.5 years older as well.

Glad kids had fun, can't wait to do it again.

Hair Donation

I cut my hair back in September, 8 inches and since then Maeve wants her hair to be like Mommy, aw.

See my before and after.

Maeve has the prettiest hair, long & thick and she loves it to be braided, put up in 1 or 2 pony tails but her favorite way to style her hair is a headband which will work with short or long hair.

Kids had haircut appointments this week and again she said "Mommy I want to wear my hair short like you", well how do I say no. Its her body and after 3 months of asking, I think a 4 year old knows what she wants, well Maeve certainly does. I took her to see her awesome hairdresser, Jen, and she agreed that if we are going to cut her hair lets cut 8 inches and donate it to Pantene and make another little girl happy who doesn't have any hair. And after 5 minutes Jen pulled the trigger and her beautiful locks fell to the floor. There were no regrets only smiles on Maeves face once she looked in the mirror. I almost cried and threw up I was so sad to see her hair fall to the floor, but she looks as beautiful with short hair as she does with long hair and to see her smile and feel like Mommy is priceless.

Next up: Liam. He has been wanting a buzz cut every since his buddy Liam had a complete buzz after having lice. Liam thought it was the coolest thing to really have no hair. We didn't buzz it off all the way, but its super short compared to his long over the ear hair look. His eyes look outstanding and he is happy to have it buzzed off and look just like his Daddy too.

Happy kids, Happy Parents!

Maeves Braids

Maeve was so excited to have her hair braided in Jamaica. She was so patient sitting as Neshawn braided her hair, almost took an hour. Here are the before, during & after pics. I wish Neshawn was here to take the braids out as it took me 1.5 hours, but again she was patient and really perfect!

Ice Skating

We enrolled kids in Dorchester learn to skate program. They freinds Charlotte, Katie, Maeve, Ailish, Claire, Rosi & Desi are skating too. They loved it the first week, and the second week Maeve had enough after 20 minutes and Liam couldn't get enough. We will continue this throughout the winter on Saturdays and then try to get together with friends for pizza afterwards.

Fun times in Dot.

Christmas Tree

For the past few years we have been picking up our trees on Dorchester Avenue in Andrews Square. Kids love deciding which tree will come home with us. Decorating with kids is fun and they love seeing all their new and old ornaments, me too. Tree fell over halfway the next day and Maeve's special Nutcracker ornament broke, but Karl glued it back together and it looks so pretty hanging high in the tree. Even Nicholas aka Nicky our Elf likes our tree for hiding.

Jamaica-Thanksgiving

Mom and Dad flew the entire family To Montego Bay, Ritz Carlton in Jamaica for 5 days for Dad's 70th Birthday. This was an overly generous gift and one that we will never forgot. My parents appreciated the vacation and loved being around their children/grandchildren. The kids had a blast playing with their older cousins in and out of the pool/hot tub all day, drinking smoothies & cherries "Liam was nicknamed cherry man" by the bartenders, going for sailboat rides and Liam even snorkled with Karl and me (too bad we don't have any pics), maeve got her hair braided and adored hanging with big cousin Kate. The weather was 85+ degrees and it was nice to get away. Too bad the turkey was terrible, but not complaining one bit!

Halloween Fun!

Yet another fun year for Halloween. Kids went to a party at Charlotte's, Brendan's, went to the annual Pumpkin Floating Event, Castle Island Haunted House, Neighborhood Parade at Savin Hill, Parade at St Peter's & Trick or Treating at The Perry's. Kids were happy to dress up as Big Bad Wolf & Lil Red Riding Hood and for the neighborhood parade switched it up to Minnie & Mickey Mouse. Lots of fun. Next stop: The Holidays.
