Twin Bond

I always wanted to have a twin when I was younger, I thought it would be so cool to go through life with a sibling the same age. My brother and sister are 5 and 6 years older than me so I didn't have a "playmate" growing up and leaned on friends and my cousin Deirdre.
Watching my children's bond is so wonderful. They really are best friends and love each others company. Yes, they can push each others buttons ( hello liam), but truly enjoy playing together. I stress so much on them having other friends, but at 3 years old they are happy enough to have each other. They do have some close friends and watching them separate and play with another child is wonderful too.
Friday is our "free day" where we have no activities and it gives us a chance to explore and find fun, new adventures. As long as my children are happy, I am happy watching them.
We met our good friends Sarah, Charlotte & Catherine at the Easton Children's Museum. Its a refurbished fire station with three levels and they have arts n crafts every friday at 10am. I have been wanting to try out this place for a long time, but its a 40 minute ride and never seemed to be on the top of the list. Thanks to Sarah, we joined our friends and had a good time. Kids loved the the train, playing dress up with Charlotte and the arts n crafts. Kids found the dinosaur room and had a blast, I think every person in the museum heard Maeve & Liam. There were double loud roars and pretend play with the big dinosaurs ( referencing each type) and dress-up dinosaur suits. As a Mom, you love watching your children play but there is something "special" about twins and how they give and take from one another. I hope they continue to enjoy one others company always.

Frosty The Snowman

We have had a snowy winter and its only January 25th. Our first blizzard was on my birthday Dec 27th when we were hit with 15 inches of snow. We have had 15+ inches each week since then and are supposed to get another Nor-Easter tomorrow. Ok, I love snow, but this has got to stop. Please just let this snow melt before we get more snow to add to the snow banks as there is no place for it to go living in Dorchester. Looks like our "Frosty' will be getting some friends very soon.

Kids love to tell us that Frosty has a carrot nose, strawberries for its mouth and lemons "really limes" for its eyes. They love to look at him as we turn the corner onto our street. They get so excited, as if he really is their friend.

Pics show Maeve making her snow angels, kids sitting on 2 feet + of snow on side yard & their beloved Frosty!

stuck inside

Hello 2011. We have had a ton of snow and some sick kids. Boston has already been dumped with over 3 feet of snow in the past three week and its snowing again. Our weekly structured activities have been canceled and we have spent a week inside. Oh boy. Kids have been enjoying their freedom, but we all have had cabin fever.

Currently, Maeve & Liam love to paint, play in their castle, do puzzles ( with our help), play with play-dough, color, dance to music, put their babies to sleep, play dress-up, play with instruments, make cookies, read books, play puzzles on Karl's ipad and chat chat chat. Oh, of course they enjoy their TV time, especially Dora, Little Einsteins, Curious George, Cat and the Hat and Super Why.

Here are pics of kids painting, Liam is starting to paint happy faces.

New Years Resolution-2011

I am starting to feel guilty that my only "documentation" of M&L's life is on a word document about 8 pages long, totally unorganized. I want them to have something to read about themselves when they are older.

As I start this blog, kids are 3 years 3 months old. They are full of chat and their stories and observation are priceless.

We spent a weekend at Helen an Tommy's with the "cousies" who were visiting from Indiana to see Grandpa. Kids has so much fun playing with their cousins and adored Helen and Tommy. We celebrated Tolla's 10th bday and Grandpa came out to join us for pizza and cake.

CT got dumped with 8 inches of snow and kids enjoyed sledding in backyard and walking in the snow.
