Ballet

Maeve had her first Ballet Recital (3.5 years old) which melted our hearts. She danced to Connie Talbot's version of "Favorite Things" and her costume was gorgeous. She looked beautiful with her hair and make-up and was beyond happy and a brave little girl.

We arrived late to Rehearsal and she tensed the stress and realized she wasn't in her normal ballet classroom with Miss Amy and her ballerina friends. When it was time to go up on the big stage and rehearse she flat-out refused. She was so upset and even with some hugs and guidance from Miss Amy she chose to watch her ballerinas friends instead of join them. Oh no, did this mean she wasn't going to dance at the recital, a few hours later?

After rehearsal, we relaxed together, watched the other acts and acquainted ourselves with the stage to try and make her feel at ease. I called Karl and asked him to arrive early as she needed a hug from Liam. Liam brought her into class every week and kissed her goodbye and she it seemed she needed her twin for her confidence. Liam arrived with orange gerber daisies and Maeve was so happy to see him and so happy for the flowers. This boost of confidence was what she needed to go onto stage and dance.

She was a beautiful ballerina who made her parents, brother and grandparents proud. They really do grow up so fast.
